Leicester Pride

  • Posted

Leicester Pride is Leicester’s annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) festival, held at the beginning of September. It is one of a number of nationwide celebrations that take place to celebrate the LGBT community. This year Leicester Pride took place on the 3rd September 2016.

Within the many stalls you could find Emery Johnson Astills. There was a collection of Emery Johnson Astills staff at our stall to participate in the celebrations and support the event. This is the third year that we, as a firm, have attended the event and we intend to repeat it again next year.

Emery Johnson Astills had the honour of sponsoring the Unsung Hero Award, at the Pride Ball on 26thAugust 2016. Emery Johnson Astills worked closely with the Pride Committee to co-create this award to raise awareness of both the issues affecting the LGBT community but also to celebrate the people who work tirelessly to help by providing information, advice and support. The winner was Lisa Vine of the Young Transgender Centre of Excellence. Congratulations Lisa!

Emery Johnson Astills offer a wide range of legal services in Criminal Law, Family Law, Care, Conveyancing and Wills & Probate and have offices in Leicester and Loughborough. The firm is committed to promoting equality and diversity for all and is proud to be known as a LGBT friendly firm and recognised in the Stonewall directory.  The firm is also a signatory to the Law Society Equality and Diversity Charter.
