Trainee Solicitor

Zara studied at De Montfort University where she obtained her degree in Public and community Health BSc with Honours in 2018. Zara joined Johnson Astills the same year as a Paralegal. She completed the GDL conversion course in 2020, again at De Montfort University and secured a Training contract at Johnson Astills. Now a Trainee Solicitor, working in both the Crime and Dispute Resolution Teams Zara is currently studying for her LPC certificate at De Montfort University on a part-time basis whilst working. Zara hopes to qualify as a solicitor later this year.

Zara is an experienced paralegal and provides support in relation to all types of criminal matters including:

  • Advice and assistance at the Police Station
  • Preparation of cases for trial in the Magistrates and Crown Court.
  • Zara is also an experienced Accredited Police Station Representative dealing with all matters including Drug, Violent, Serious Sexual Offences and Murder

Zara is an Accredited Police Station Representative and regularly represents clients at the Police Station.

Zara also provides support to the Dispute Resolution Team led by Laura Anderson who specialises in the following contentious matters:

  • Disputes between co-owners of property, including applications for Orders for Sale (ToLATA disputes)
  • Claims for reasonable financial provision from an estate (Inheritance Act claims)
  • Disputes over the administration of estates
  • Bringing and defending claims for breach of commercial agreements
  • Recovery of possession of residential property
