What if I don’t know if a loved one left a Will?

When a loved one dies, it is often difficult to find information relating to their estate, any assets they may have held, and whether they prepared a Will during their lifetime.

Our expert solicitors at Johnson Astills can assist you with carrying out a Will Search using a National Will Register to see if a loved one prepared a Will during their lifetime, and help you locate this. We can also assist you with seeing whether the Will you have is the most recent or up to date Will or if there is a later Will that takes effect.

If you have a relative who has recently passed away and are unsure as to whether or not they prepared a Will during their lifetime, or if you have the most up to date Will, please do not hesitate to contact Johnson Astills and our Wills and Probate Solicitors would be pleased to assist.

A Will search is a crucial part of estate administration and gives peace of mind that the estate is handled correctly. Additionally, it will shield the Personal Representatives of the estate from personal liability if a later Will appears, after they have distributed the estate.
