Rachel Gaffney

Trainee Solicitor

Rachel obtained her degree in Law in 2003 and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2004 at De Montfort University. Rachel has worked at the local magistrates’ court and as a paralegal before joining Johnson Astills in 2021. She is an experienced Criminal Defence Paralegal and an Accredited Police Station Representative and represents client at the police station regularly.

Rachel joined Johnson Astills as a Paralegal and secured a training contract in February 2022. She is due to qualify in 2023.

Rachel currently works in the crime department and provides support in relation to all types of criminal matters including:

  • Advise and Assistance at the Police Station
  • Preparation of cases for trial in the Magistrates and Crown Court including; Drug Offences, Assault,  Violent and Serious Sexual Offences, Public Order Offences, Knife Crime, Burglary and Theft and Offences against Public Justice

Rachel is an accredited Police Station Representative.
